According to a
recent poll, a large majority of Americans showed greater support for government health care coverage.
I'd vote for nationalized healthcare, where universal coverage will ultimately lead, if I knew that movie stars, billionaires and government officials where going to be getting the exact coverage I get, wait in the same offices I wait in and wait (months and years) for the same procedures I wait for. They won't even send their kids to public school, do you think they will send themselves into a public healthcare system queue? Hardly. The so-called disparity between the haves and have-nots will actually begin to exist.
One 24 year-old I was recently talking to lamented his lack of health insurance. He had cable and NetFlix. Combined the cost of these two necessities is greater than a basic health insurance plan. In Los Angeles! He said, "really?" But then he looked sad. I can only imagine he was thinking only old people like thirty-somethings did something grown-up like pay for health insurance. Yes, Johnny it's time to grow up now!
I don't think we are headed to nationalized healthcare because it would put too many ecnalubma chasing lawyers out of work. They are the mightiest of lobbies. Most law makers are lawyers.
That is unless the Atheists (I capitalize "Atheist" because it's a religion too)
get their way with the Supreme Court.
