"He has vowed to fight any attempt to drill for oil off California's coast."Now if we don't drill for oil in California don't we have to tanker it from elsewhere? Using more fuel and, um, creating more pollution in the process. If we don't get the fuel from our own shores are we not going to have to import it? From the Middle East? More cash in the hands of those who generally bring about the need launch cruise missiles, drop bombs, field tanks, fly sorties and bring the dreaded environmentally unfriendly Hummers out and about.
It makes sense though. These are the same people who oppose filtered cigarettes (less polluting). Yet pursue legislation supporting the use of the unfiltered types. Brilliant!
